Auflage: rund 87.000 - leicht steigend.
- Steve Englehart becomes the author, Joe Staton returns as artist, better than ever - not only because his work is inked by Bruce Patterson.
The series never was better which showed in the sales.

Dear Mr. Englehart,
I stopped reading and buying American comics shortly after Zero Hour. Since then more years have passed than I care to admit.
Every once in a while I reread one of my old treasures.
I think, every true comic-fan has read your Batman-stories more than once. Every time I do it, I find something in the art of Marshall Rogers that I missed before. Today the word "classic" is used too often - but those stories deserve the label storywise and artwise.
Since a few weeks I read Green Lantern.
When you started your tenure on Green Lantern, the series was only mediocre. Oh, it had its times. I liked the John Broome stories, and what Marv Wolfman (with Joe Staton) did, is still a highlight of the series.
But what you (withPencils:Joe Staton
who was never better than as artist of Green Lantern [and E-Man and Plastic-Man]) did, is the best, that ever happened to Hal Jordan. I had that feeling then - I had it ten years ago, when I reread the complete series the first time, I have it now, while rereading it.
I know, for you it was work. For me, it was and is a great pleasure.
Thank you (and Joe Staton).
I have to go with English.
I'm glad you liked the GLC run. Joe and I had a wonderful time on it - it was my personal favorite of all the series in did in the 80s - and we pumped GL to the point that he's been a much bigger player in the DCU ever since. Not bad for a couple of guys at play.
These days I'm on the outs with DC, since they cancelled Dark Detective III so it wouldn't overshadow the "real" Batman, and Joe is not allowed to do superheroes (he draws Scooby Doo). Such is life. But I still look back on that run with the same fondness you're talking about.
Grüne Laterne immer!
Danke Steve. Vielen, vielen Dank.
