- Eigentlich wollten Michelinie und Simonson einen neuen Todesstern erscheinen lassen. Diese Idee wurde von Lucasfilm verworfen - da schon geplant war, in Return of the Jedi einen neuen Todesstern erscheinen zu lassen.
- Nachdem der Todesstern in Tarkin umbenannt wurde, hatte niemand mehr was gegen die Geschichte.

- Die Geschichte war als Geschichte für John Carter of Mars geschrieben worden. Nachdem die Serie beendet wurde, blieb diese Geschichte unveröffentlicht. Mit einer Rahmengeschichte und leichten Änderungen konnte sie dann doch noch verwendet werden.

- Die Lashbee sahen zunächst wie Gremlins aus. Das wurde nach einem Einspruch von Lucasfilm in Richtung Katze geändert. Und sie durften auf keinen Fall mit Gleitern fliegen, da dass bereits für die Ewoks vorgesehen war, die in Return of the Jedi auftreten sollten. Das Heft kam im März 83 auf den Markt, der Film im Mai 83 in die Kinos.
