Von Western Publishing kam die Serie zu DC (wo die Numerierung weitergeführt wurde).
Selten sah Tarzan so gut aus, wie unter Joe Kubert (Autor, Zeichner und Editor). Nur leider konnten die meisten Geschichten dem zeichnerischen Höhenflug nichts gleichwertiges entgegen halten. Sie waren kurz und unbedeutend. Sobald Kubert Geschichten von Burroughs adaptierte, gelang es ihm einen Höhepunkt der amerikanischen Comics dieses Jahrzehnts zu schaffen.
